Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Elite Auto Group is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information. A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles may be obtained from the website of the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. We collect Personal Information so that we can value your vehicle, answer your enquiry, arrange collection or inspection, and complete a sale or purchase.

When you use a form on this website we collect the details you give us: your name, mobile number, email address, your vehicle’s registration or its make, model and year, its kilometres and condition, your suburb or postcode, any photos you choose to attach, and anything else you tell us. If you telephone us, we collect what you tell us on the call.

We also collect limited technical information when you submit a form: the page you submitted it from, the page that referred you, and advertising click identifiers passed by Google or Meta if you arrived from an advertisement. This lets us tell which advertising produced a genuine enquiry. It is stored with your enquiry and is not used to build a profile of you.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

We do not ask for sensitive information and you should not send it to us. If we do receive it, it will be used only for the primary purpose for which it was obtained, for a directly related secondary purpose, with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.

Third parties

Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. In some circumstances we may be provided with information by a third party, such as a vehicle listing site through which you contacted us. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your Personal Information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Your Personal Information may be disclosed where you consent to the use or disclosure, and where required or authorised by law — which, for a licensed motor car trader, includes the records and transfer paperwork we are required to keep and to lodge.

Enquiries submitted through this website are sent to us by email and stored in this website’s own database, which is held by our website host. Our web hosting and email providers can technically access what is stored on their systems in the course of running them, and are bound by their own obligations.

Cookies

This website sets one cookie of its own. It records how you arrived at the site — the referring page and any advertising click identifier — so that if you submit a form later in the same visit, or within 90 days, we can tell which advertising produced the enquiry. It does not identify you, and it is not used to show you advertising.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The forms on this site will still work if you do.

Security of your Personal Information

Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. However, much of what we hold is kept in records we are required to retain as a licensed motor car trader, and those are kept for as long as the law requires.

Access to your Personal Information

You may access the Personal Information we hold about you, and ask us to update or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing using the details below.

We will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information. In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.

Maintaining the quality of your Personal Information

It is important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure it is accurate, complete and current. If you find that what we hold is out of date or inaccurate, please tell us as soon as practicable so we can update our records.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change from time to time and the current version is always available on this page.
